What is whamola instrument?

The Whamola is a musical instrument created by Les Claypool, the bassist of the band Primus. It consists of a long wooden board with a single string stretched between two tuning pegs at each end of the board. A wooden bridge is placed on the board to hold the string in place and to provide a place for the player to pluck the string.

The sound is created by vibrating the string and amplifying the sound with an electric pickup. The Whamola can produce a wide range of sounds, from low and deep to high and bright.

The instrument is played by tapping the string with one hand while manipulating the length and tension of the string with the other hand, creating different pitches and tones. The Whamola is often played with a bow, giving it a unique and distinctive sound.

The Whamola has been used in a variety of musical genres, including rock, funk, and experimental music. It has also been used as a tool for music therapy and education.
